DWCRA Women To Get YSR Asara Letters From CM YS Jagan

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to issue letters directly to DWCRA women beneficiaries of YSR Asara scheme in four phases. YS Jagan will thus fulfil the commitment he made to the people of AP before the elections on loan waivers to DWCRA women's self-help groups. The chief minister had also stated before the elections that the scheme would be rolled out in the second year of the YSRCP coming to power. As per estimates, the total outstanding on this count amounts to Rs. 27,147 crores. YS Jagan has decided to release the interest amount of Rs. 2,472 crores in the first year and the total amount of Rs. 27,147 crores in four phases based on the due amount in each group's case.

The chief minister has instructed officials to maintain complete transparency in the matter. He held a review meeting with minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, principal secretary in chief minister's office, Solomon Arogyaraj, principal secretary, rural development, Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and principal secretary, urban development, Shyamala Rao.

The chief minister instructed officials to give a certificate to each group along with the chief minister's letter, with details of the loan. This exercise is to be completed shortly after village-level volunteers are appointed on August 15.
