TDP Spurs Into Action To Dissuade Nani From Exiting Party

TDP sprang into action to dissuade Nani from taking any such step - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: With the speculation doing rounds that Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani could ditch the TDP to join BJP, TDP sprang into action to dissuade Nani from taking any such step. Guntur MP and TDP parliamentary party chief Galla Jayadev met Nani as Chandrbabu Naidu’s emissary at his Kesineni Bhavan on Tuesday.

Upon being asked to clarify such news by Jayadev, Nani believed to have told the former that there was no such malicious intent of jumping on the BJP bandwagon and asked the party not to make a big deal out of such news. He clarified that was not intention behind rejecting the parliamentary party whip position offered to him by the TDP chief. He added that he would like to continue as Vijayawada MP and fight for the fulfillment of promises made by the Centre during the bifurcation of the State.

While thanking Chandrababu, Nani earlier in a Facebook post declined the offer of party whip in the Parliament pointing out that he wouldn’t be able to manage such huge responsibility. He, in turn, advised Chandrababu to find someone more competent than him, and that he was happy serving the people of Vijayawada who elected him as Lok Sabha MP.

However, word has it that Nani is sulking with the party leadership as he had hoped for parliamentary party chief than the whip position. Felt hurt by party’s attitude towards him, Nani is believed to be considering the option of switching to BJP. The news gets more credence as this comes close on the heels of BJP State president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana saying that many senior leaders from TDP would join BJP.
