Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who has been on an attacking mode since the BJP's tally rose in the recent Lok Sabha elections also left a sharp political message at an Eid celebration on Wednesday.

Speaking to a gathering after Eid celebration, Mamata said, "Hindus stand for renunciation (tyaag), Muslims for integrity (imaan), Christians for love (pyaar) and Sikhs for sacrifice (balidan). This is our beloved Hindustan and we will protect it."

Mamata, known for her blistering attack against her opponents, added in Hindi that whoever messes with “us”, referring to TMC, would be destroyed.

"Jo humse takraega wo choor choor ho jaega. (Whoever messes with us will be destroyed). That is our slogan," she added.

Following BJP's "Jai Shri Ram" chant campaign, Mamata Banerjee has been on vigorous fightback mode. On Thursday, Banerjee lost her cool when a group of men shouted "Jai Shri Ram" as her motorcade passed through the troubled Bhatpara area of North 24 Parganas district.

Again, earlier this month, in a video Mamata was seen losing her temper near Chandrakona in West Midnapore district when some men chanted "Jai Shri Ram" when her motorcade passed through the area.
