Only 3 AP Ministers Could Survive YS Jagan Wave

Hyderabad: Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party faced defeat in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress party emerged victorious in Andhra Pradesh. With 150 seats out of 175 assembly seats and 23 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats, the YSRCP secured a landslide victory.

Outgoing Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu won from Kuppam in Chittoor district with a majority of 30,309 votes against YSRCP candidate Chandramouli. Three other Cabinet Ministers from TDP retained their seats - Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa from Peddapuram constituency, Education Minister Ghanta Srinivasa Rao from Visakhapatnam North and Tourism & BC Welfare Minister Kinjarapu Achennaidu from Tekkali.

Chandrababu's son and TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh lost to YSRCP candidate Alla Rama Krishna Reddy in Mangalagiri by 5, 312 votes.

Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad faced defeat from Ambati Rambabu of YSRCP in Sathenapally segment while Deputy Speaker Mandali Budha Prasad lost to YSRCP’s Simhadri Ramesh Babu in Avanigadda.

Marketing and Warehousing Minister Adi Narayana Reddy lost to YSRCP’s Mithun Reddy in Kadapa while Forest, Science, and Technology Minister Sidha Raghava Rao has been defeated in Ongole Loksabha constituency by YSRCP candidate Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy.

Other Ministers who faced defeat include Bhuma Akhila Priya (Allagadda), Devineni Uma Maheswar Rao (Mylavaram), Prathipati Pulla Rao (Chilakaluripeta), Yanamala Ramakrishnudu (Tuni), Ayyannapatrudu (Narsipatnam), Kalva Srinivasulu (Rayadurgam), Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy (Sarvepally), Amaranath Reddy (Palamaneru), Jawahar (Tiruvuru), Ponguru Narayana (Nellore City), Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao (Bobbili), Kidari Sravan (Araku), Nakka Anand Babu (Vemuru), Kollu Ravindra (Machilipatnam), Pithani Satya Narayana (Achanta) and Kala Venkat Rao (Echerla).
