Election Commission Faults Chandrababu On Code Violation
Amaravati: The Election Commission is reported to have faulted Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's functioning and reviews of government departments describing it as violation of the model code in force.
The Election Commission has made it clear that conducting reviews and teleconferences till May 23 amounts to a clear violation of the election code. The Chief Electoral Officer Gopalakrishna Dwivedi had to reiterate the fact that the Model Code of Code with respect to elections would be in force till May 23.
When media representatives asked the AP CEO on whether Chandrababu's departmental reviews amounted to violation of the code, he replied that a look at the Model Code would explain the facts.
Chandrababu Naidu has already conducted reviews of Polavaram and CRDA. He was forced to cancel the review related to Home department after EC flagged it as violation of the Model code.
Moreover, the chief secretary, LV Subramanyam did not attend the reviews conducted by the chief minister as it would amount to violation of the code.
