Chandrababu’s Attempts To Curb Voter Turnout Due To Fear of Defeat
Amravati: Senior YSRCP leaders Vasireddy Padma and MV Murthy flayed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu's desperate attempts to ensure that the poll percentage is reduced and influence the poll results. Ever since the polling session started, Chandrababu had spread false rumours that the EVMs were not functioning. This had led to many voters leaving the booths without voting, they said. The state Election Commission had also issued statements that the technical glitches were resolved and elections were on, but Chandrababu was sending wrong information that the machines were down.
The YSRCP leaders submitted a petition regarding this to the EC . Speaking to the media after the submission of the petition the YSRCP leaders' said that Chandrababu Naidu was in a deep state of fear about losing the elections and was indulging in these cheap tactics to detract the voters. They also claimed that a person who was of such a high rank as a Chief Minister was demanding that re-polling be conducted in 30 percent polling booths and had submitting a letter when the elections was ongoing .The timing of this letter was to mislead and prevent the voters from coming out and voting on Thursday, they said.
