People Bade Goodbye To The Demonic Rule Of Chandrababu: YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy thanked the people of Andhra Pradesh for exercising their right to vote despite chief minister Chandrababu Naidu trying every trick in his book from attacking the Election Commission to using violence, to threatening voters and officials to blaming EVMs. All his attempts to bring down polling fell flat, the YSRCP chief said.

Addressing the media at his residence here on Thursday, YS Jagan said that 80% of the people of AP exercised their right to vote. They could see as to which party they had voted for in the VVPAT. “How how can anyone come up with a negative comment unless one is overpowered by a sense of defeat. A large voter turnout is a positive sign. Chandrababu Naidu‘s intention was to bring down the percentage of polling.  Fortunately people did not fall into his trap and have protected democracy,”YS Jagan said. “There will be a landslide,”he predicted.

Striking a sombre note, he conveyed his sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives due to the violence unleashed by the TDP, and to those who were injured in the violent incidents today. He informed media persons that 2 YSRCP workers died in the violence let loose by TDP, one each in Anantapur and Chittoor districts, while several others were injured.

Chandrababu was gripped by a fear of defeat and was hence attacking institutions, YS Jagan said. In trying to protect himself and cling to power, the level to which the TDP chief stooped is shocking, he said.

YS Jagan cited a number of incidents of violence incited by the TDP, including the attack on YSRCP MLA candidate in Vizianagaram district, Pushpa Srivani. Similarly, the YSRCP chief pointed out that in Guntur, the party candidate for Gurajala, Kasu Mahesh Reddy was attacked.

In Nellore the YSRCP candidate Anil Kumar Yadav was attacked and in Guntur district, minister Prathipati Pulla Rao had threatened the election staff.

Merugu Nagarjuna, the YSRCP candidate was attacked in Vemuru. All these were instances of Chandrababu plotting to bring down polling percentage.

In spite of all these attempts and conspiracies, people came in large numbers to vote, YS Jagan said and thanked the voters for participating in the April 11 elections.
