Chandrababu Blaming EVMs After Reading Writing On The Wall: YSRCP
Hyderabad: Addressing the media here, senior YSR Congress Party leader and general secretary, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that voters in Andhra Pradesh had utilised their right to vote in the manner that the party had hoped. He further said that the YSRCP is committed to values in public life and is a party which was built on the principle of serving the people and earning their trust. Credibility and honesty were its cornerstones, he added. Sajjala further said that in 2014 Chandrababu Naidu had come to power making all sorts of false promises to the people. The TDP supremo frittered away the opportunity given by the people of Andhra Pradesh and instead of earning the trust of the people, he wasted an opportunity to develop the state in 5 years.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy reminded media persons that when Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister, the same Chandrababu Naidu had demanded the transfer of the DGP and the CEC had obliged him. The TDP leaders while in Opposition, had gheraoed the APCEO Bhanwarlal, he recalled. The YSRCP had been acting all along as a responsible opposition party with great restraint, he added. The TDP while being in power, was using all sorts of excuses and blaming EVMs, EC and others, he said.
In truth, Chandrababu had read the writing the wall, but was finding fault with the EVMs, he said. Chandrababu and Kodela Sivaprasada Rao had failed in upholding democratic values, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy added. The Speaker falsely accused the YSRCP of attacking him. His claim was audacious considering there was only one YSRCP agent in the polling booth which Kodela entered. The YSRCP leader pointed out that the Speaker entered the polling centre and closed the doors. In fact, attacks took place on YSRCP leaders and activists elsewhere, he said.
Chandrababu, sure of defeat, was making wild allegations such as the vote going to YSRCP when it was cast for TDP. This claim of his was later rubbished by the AP Chief Electoral Officer, Gopalakrishna Dwivedi.
The senior YSRCP leader said that his party did not wish to respond to TDP's cheap allegations.
