Chandrababu Species Of A Different Kind: Daggubati
Amaravati: NTR’s older son-in-law and one of the early members of the Telugu Desam Party accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu of belonging to a strange new breed.
While making a reference to all kinds of creatures on earth—amphibians, aquatic, reptiles and mammals, Daggubati said that the TDP chief belonged to a fifth kind of species. Mounting a scathing attack on Chandrababu for his inconsistent statements, Daggubati said that the AP chief minister would change his statement every few hours.
Venkateswara Rao also added that he felt sorry for Chandrababu Naidu who is now the butt of all kinds of jokes on social media. He would not have continued in the CM’s position for an hour had he been in Chandrababu’s shoes, he said.
The former minister also pointed out that Chandrababu has nothing to show for Amaravati except graphics. He added that it took four years for him to come up with designs for Amaravati. He also criticized police officials for being reduced to stooges of the ruling party.
He was addressing a press conference at the press club here along with his son Hithesh Chenchuram.
Daggubati slammed Chandrababu for misusing public money amounting to hundreds of crores in the name of showing the 'development of Polavaram project'. He added that Chandrababu was bragging about completing the project with state government funds, while Polavaram is being funded by the Centre.
He recalled that when Deve Gowda as prime minister wanted to sanction the Polavaram project, Chandrababu had declined it dismissively (saying 'Polavaram vaddu geelavaram vaddu). Now, the same Chandrababu is making tall claims about his commitment to Polavaram.
Daggubati also flayed Chandrababu for wasteful expemditure of tax payers' money for his so-called Dharma Porata Deeksha, spending as much as Rs 11 crores for his deeksha in Delhi and Rs 2-3 crores for each such protest in the state.
He expressed his anguish at the fact that not only were crowds being mobilised for Chandrababu's rallies, but that district collectors were reduced to playing the role of watchmen to ensure that people didn't go away.
One district collector is believed to have told Daggubati that he had no time for day-to-day administration because he was preoccupied with the chief minister's tours and that Chandrababu visited his district as many as 90 times!
Referring the role of police officials in political matters, Daggubati said that it was unfortunate that Chandrababu turned them into TDP workers pointing out that a senior intelligence official was behind the 'purchase' of turncoat MLAs from YSRCP spending as much as Rs 7 to Rs 20 crores.
He observed that this official in question carried out the negotiations on behalf of the TDP. He severely criticized Chandrababu for acting as if he was the Speaker of the AP Assembly undermining the position of the chair completely.
