AP Police Put YSRCP Leaders Under House Arrest Acting On Minister’s Diktats

YSR Kadapa : Police acted in an overzealous manner in YSR Kadapa district. Police put many leaders from the YSR Congress party under house arrest. In Pulivendula, YSRCP Ex-MP Avinash Reddy, state secretary Devireddy Shankar Reddy, Kadapa mayor Suresh Babu and Jammalamadugu constituency coordinator Sudheer Reddy in Yerragunta were put under under house arrest in their respective residences.

Some of the supporters were meant to join the YSR Congress party in Gorigenoor village, of Jammalamadugu mandal on Wednesday. This event was to be attended by YSRCP leaders Avinash Reddy, Sudheer Reddy, Suresh Babu as they were been invited by them. But, police came under the influence of Minister Adinarayana Reddy, who seemed to have been rattled by this development and put the leaders under house arrest even after they requested permission for a peaceful rally in the village. The leaders described this incident as a blot on democracy. It refelcted the insecurity of the TDP and the local minister, they remarked. The minister and the ruling party are resorting to brute police to suppress the voice of the opposition and denying them the freedom which their Constitutional right, they added.
