PM Modi Must Explain Developments in CBI: Chandrababu
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is at full throttle against the BJP. Speaking to his Ministers in a special meeting at his residence in Vundavalli, he discussed the present political developments in the state and strategies to adopt for the upcoming elections in 2019. He said he would be available every Wednesday for discussing the party affairs and also released a poster for the upcoming 'Dharma Poratam’ (fight for justice) against the Central government’s ‘betrayal and conspiratorial politics', to be held in Chennai on November 11.
Reacting sharply to the centre's allegations with respect to Agrigold Deposit case and IT raids on the ministers, he said that he would file a counter case against the centre with the help of the CBCID. Talking about PM Modi's autocratic behaviour especially with reference to the latest developments in which the CBI director and joint director were sent on leave overnight. He said that Prime Minister was answerable to the people and he was trying to cover mistakes by appointing his stooges in positions of high authority for his own benefit. Calling the move totally unconstitutional, Chandrababu demanded to know under what legislation the PM had removed the directors.
He also instructed the TDP party members and leaders to speed up the membership drive from 31 October and take the membership numbers from 65 lakhs to one Crore. "Mission Elections 2019" should be our goal and seat allocation would be given to members who are capable of winning while others would work for the party's growth, he stated. Naidu also asked party members to focus on the elections of three MLC seats and start updating the electoral list in lieu of the upcoming elections.
The Grama Darsini program in villages was implemented only upto 31.% and it should be organised in the rest of the villages as well, he said. Grama Darshini was an initiative to help resolve grievances in implementation of welfare programmes, he added. The AP CM also spoke about training more than one lakh people in the SevaMithra program.
In a latest development, former Nellore MLA Bollineni Krishnayya joined the TDP in the presence of Chandrababu.
