Row In Nandyal As Minister Akhila Priya’s Associates Indulge In Red Sand Mining
Mahanandi, Kurnool: The red sand mafia in the district is turning out to be a danger looming for the locals of Mahanandi near Nandyal here. In a latest, a child, who was crossing the road on Sunday evening, was lucky to escape an accident when a vehicle belonging to the associates of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) minister Bhuma Akhila Priya whizzed past the child. According to reports, several over speeding vehicles with stickers of late TDP leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Akhila Priya were causing trouble to the locals in the last two days. The vehicles were moving to and from the red sand mining site at Gajulapally's Ankireddy Cheruvu in Mahanandi mandal.
On Sunday, certain TDP leaders created public nuisance by repeatedly honking and driving at an excessive speed. While two Scorpio vehicles were moving at high speed on the road, a child was crossing the road. Fortunately, no casualties occurred at the time.
Also, an associate of Akhila Priya is believed to be creating noise by honking near the MLA's residence. Villagers opined that the TDP worker was driving carelessly because he had the support of the local MLA. On Monday, the reckless driving by the TDP workers continued to trouble the locals.
