CBCID Begins Investigation In TDP MLA Illegal Mining Case
Guntur: The Crime Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) began investigation in the illegal mining case against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Yarapathineni Srinivas Rao. In relation to the accounts pertaining to mining in the past 18 years, the CID and Mining department officers have convened a meeting with limestone millers. The government has already issued Show-cause notices to the retired and working officers who had worked in Piduguralla and Dachepally Mandals.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress party (YSRCP) coordinator Mahesh Reddy said that the CB-CID was working towards issuing a clean chit to the TDP MLA. "The CID is a sister organization to the TDP. Did the CID ever investigate a TDP MLA? What is the need to carry out a CID investigation?" he questioned.
Mahesh Reddy demanded that a fair investigation be carried out by the CBI, since the scam was worth Rs 500 crores. He added that all the allegations made by Yarapathineni were baseless.
