Govt Tried to Foil Bandh With Police Help: Botsa

YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana - Sakshi Post

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party leader Botsa Satyanarayana criticised the ruling TDP government for its high-handed behaviour while the YSRCP leaders were observing bandh in the state. Speaking to media here today, he said the state government had tried to foil the bandh with the help of police forces. "If government was sincere about Special Category Status (SCS) for the state, why would it get the protestors assaulted by the police," he said.

Botsa said all sections of the society came forward in support for the bandh. He said YSRCP will support the party which awards SCS to AP at the Centre. Chandrababu was afraid that he would be arrested in different cases and this was the reason the AP CM struck a compromise with Centre and TRS. He recalled that before last elections TDP-BJP combine had promised SCS, but after elections they conveniently forgot about it. With elections approaching they have started drama once again, he observed.

He said that what Galla Jayadev spoke in Parliament was nothing but what YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been saying for over three and half years. "But TDP leaders mocked at YSRCP then." The government did not bother when YS Jagan pointed out that the state would be at loss if SCS was not granted, he said.
