YSRCP MLA On House Arrest, Tension In Narasaraopet
Narasaraopet: YSR Congress Party MLA Dr Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy challenged Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasad Rao and his son to an open debate on the accusations made against him. As part of the challenge, the YSRCP MLA was on his way to debate here this morning when the police stopped him and put him on house arrest. They also placed a huge contingent of policemen around Srinivasa Reddy's house. This act of police led to tension in Narasaraopet.
The YSRCP MLA said that he can prove the atrocities and corruption happening at Narasaraopet and Sattenapalli. He added that if he was proved wrong, he would quit his post and similarly he asked the TDP leaders to prove the accusation made against him or quit their posts. In protest against the false accusations made against the YSRCP MLA, the party workers and supporters are planning to hold a rally and a public meeting.

In order to stall the planned rally and public meeting on Saturday, the ruling party had allegedly used the official machinery and got section 144 imposed in the area where these two programmes were planned. It is learnt that in charge Tahsildhar G Srinivas had asked police on Friday evening to impose section 144. This was the conspiracy of the ruling party to stall the YSRCP protest.
The sequence of events happening from Friday evening had led to tension in Narasaraopet town.
