Amorous CI, woman SI suspended

Hyderabad: A circle inspector and a woman sub-inspector, who are allegedly in an extra-marital relationship, were suspended by police authorities on Wednesday. The duo were suspended after they were caught in Hotel Brindavan in Abids on November 15.As per reports, Totacharla Swamy, 35, CI at Karimnagar three town police station was in a extra marital affair with Rajya Lakshmi, 30, a sub inspector in Warangal. They were posted to Hyderabad on a special duty as Security to Telangana State Assembly. 

Rajya Lakshmi's husband Sunil, who is a software engineer by profession, caught them red-handed at hotel in Abids last week. With CCTVs in place at vantage positions inside the hotel, the entire drama was captured on tape. The two have been taken off active duty.

Based on Sunil's complaint, Abids police registered a case under sections 497 (adultery) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Swamy. He was produced in court and later granted bail.
