AIMIM Announces its Candidates for GHMC Polls
Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) announced its candidates for the ensuing GHMC polls. However, the announcement has left several aspirants for the AIMIM ticket disappointed.
The party headquarters at Darussalam saw hectic activity thourghout Saturday as ticket aspirants thronged the office. After the announcement, many expressed their disappointment as they felt deserving candidates were left out.
The list of candidates and the ward they will be contesting from:
Sohail Mahmood Quadri from Pathargatti, Wajid Ali Khan (Rein Bazar), Ali Mohammed Omer (Bowenpally), Majid Husain (Mehdipatnam), Mohammed Azam Shareef (Lalita Bagh), Mohammed Akhil (Musheerabad), Naveen Yadav (Rahmath Nagar), Salma Amena (Vijaynagar Colony), Fahmeena Anjum (Asif Nagar), Arshad Faraz (Shaikpet), Rishma Fatima (Kanchan Bagh), Fahad bin Abdar (Uppuguda), Muzaffar Husain (Santosh Nagar), Abdul Wahab (Chandrayangutta), Saleem Husain (Boudha Nagar), Mohammed (Amberpet) and Sakina Begum (Golnaka).
Ex-Corporator Mohammed Ghouse Quits AIMIM: The party's senior leader and ex-corporator Mohammed Ghouse quit AIMIM on Saturday. He formally joined the All India Congress Committee (AICC) at the party's state office at Gandhi Bhavan in the presence of TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy. Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, GHCC Minorities cell leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail and other leaders were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghouse said only the Congress party was capable of fighting the communal forces. The Congress party also provided 4% reservation which benefitted nearly 10 lakh poor Muslims, he said. It may be recalled that Ghouse was elected as MIM corporator in 2002 and 2009 from the Charminar ward.
