Wife in, husband steps out of politics?

Wife decides to quit Congress to join BJP, and husband decides to quit politics to help wife.
Former Central Minister Purandeswari, announced, on Thursday, that she will meet BJP leaders in Delhi to discuss about her entry into the party.
There were reports that Purandeswari's husband and Congress MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Rao will also follow his wife. But, on Friday he announced his retirement. Rao also announced that they have decided that Purandeswari alone will continue in politics due to family and political reasons.
"We had to make a choice, between her and me, we decide that she will continue in politics," he said.
Rumors are doing the rounds that he decided to quit politics in view of the reports about TDP- BJP alliance.
Interestingly, he was the first legislator to exercise None Of The Above (NOTA) option introduced in the Rajya Sabha elections.
