36 Injured As 8 Coaches Of Mahakaushal Express Derail Near Mahoba In UP

Lucknow: At least 36 passengers were injured, 10 of them seriously, as eight bogies of the Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Mahakaushal Express derailed early on Thursday near Mahoba station in Uttar Pradesh.
The train, traveling from Jabalpur to Delhi, derailed in Kulpahar in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district. The accident happened at around 2am.
The reason for the derailment is not yet known, and an investigation has been started in this regard. According to the Ministry of Railways, the rear coaches of the train have derailed. The unaffected coaches left the site of the accident at 6:45am and are headed for their destination - Delhi's Nizamuddin Railway Station.

Earlier, the CPRO said an accident relief train has also been rushed to the site and the injured have been given first-aid. Around eight coaches from the rear side of the train derailed between Mahoba and Kulpahar stations, he said.
Senior officials, including the general manager of North Central Railway MC Chauhan rushed to the site and rescue operations are on. The cause of derailment is yet to be ascertained.
