6 New Judges Of Hyderabad High Court Take Charge
Hyderabad: Six new judges of the Hyderabad High Court took oath at the court hall of Chief Justice on Thursday. Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan administered the swearing-in for the new judges.
The new judges are Justice DVSS Somayajulu, Justice K. Vijayalakshmi, Justice P. Keshava Rao, Justice M. Ganga Rao, Justice Abhinand Kumar Shawli and Justice T. Amarnath Goud.
The High Court judges will continue in service till their superannuation at the age of 62. All the six new judges have around 8-10 years of service. The strength of the High Court judges has gone up to 38 with the induction of six new judges against a total allotted strength of 61. There are still 23 vacant positions.
Brief Intro Of New High Court Judges
DVSS Somayajulu was enrolled in 1985 and is from Visakhapatnam. He was initially trained in the office of his father late DV Subba Rao, former chairman Bar Council of India. K. Vijaya Lakshmi graduated in law from CRR College, Eluru. She was junior in the office of Justice Parvatha Rao prior to his elevation in 1990 and was a special government pleader in High Court.
P. Keshava Rao is from Warangal district and after his enrolment in 1986 he shifted to Hyderabad and was standing counsel for the CBI in High Court. He dealt with several high profile cases.
M. Ganga Rao hails from remote area of Anantapur district. After his LLB from Osmania University he started practice at High Court and was government pleader representing undivided AP Government in High Court.
Abhinand Kumar Shawli is a native of Hyderabad and after his law graduation from Osmania University he extensively practised in High Court, AP Administrative Tribunal (APAT) and Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).
Amarnath Goud who hails from Secunderabad and started his practice in 1990 and was member of Legal Services Authority at High Court. He was officer bearer of High Court Advocates Association for two terms.
