6 Killed As Bolero Smashes Into Lorry In Guntur 

Guntur: Six persons died on the spot when the Bolero they were traveling rammed into a stationary lorry at Biminenivaripalem in Medikonduru mandal of Guntur district in the wee hours on Friday.

The deceased were identified as M. Srinivasarao(32) who was driving the vehicle, Madasu Rajarao(45), S. Raghavendra Rao(57), Dasari Kiran(43) all natives of Old Guntur, Posani Venkataramana(47) of Ponnekallu and Venkatasubba Reddy(45) who was from Kurnool. Rajarao was an advocate and four of the victims belonged to a same family.

All the six passengers including the driver died of multiple injuries when their vehicle smashed into the lorry (AP05 TC4589) which was parked off the road with one of its tyres punctured on a narrow road between Biminenivaripalem and Medikonduru. As it was around 3am and still dark, the Bolero driver, who is reportedly in a drunken state, must have assumed that the lorry was moving and rammed into it at a high speed. The victims were returning to Guntur after attending a wedding party at Rentachintala.

The Bolero was smashed completely with the impact while the lorry did not get any major damage. The lorry driver has been taken into custody and further investigation is going on.
