Reporter Rama Reddy undergoing treatment in a hospital

Eluru: A journalist working with I-News TV channel was attacked by a group of assailants for reporting illegal sand mining in West Godavari on Wednesday night.

According to police, the reporter Rama Reddy was sleeping in his house near Achanta when a group of people attacked him with Iron rods for reporting news on illegal sand mining. The reporter was severely injured on head and legs. Family members shifted him to Tanuku hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

After the telecast of the sand mining on I-News on Wednesday, the reporter was attacked the same night.

Police registered a case and probe is on. However, no one was arrested so far.
