55-Year-Old Man Gets 7 Year Jail For Raping Teenage Daughter 

Hyderabad: Omar Khan, a 55-year-old man, was convicted by a criminal court here for raping and impregnating his 15-year-old daughter in 2005. The accused has been handed out seven years of rigorous imprisonment.

Falaknuma Division ACP Mohd Tajuddin Ahmed said the scientific investigation with the help of a DNA test conducted by the Investigating Officers helped establish the offence.

“It went on for months and the girl was hesitant to inform about her father’s deeds to her mother. Later after knowing, they began complaining but Omar threatened his wife and daughter to kill them if they informed anyone. However, the mother lodged a complaint with us,” Ahmed said.

The doctors have aborted her pregnancy and the victim now lives with her mother.

The accused has been held guilty under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC by the Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge B Sai Kalyan Chakraverti.

Omar, a resident of of Achi Reddy Nagar in Falaknuma, did small time jobs.
