54.6% pass in Inter first year, girls fare well
Intermediate Board declared first year Intermediate examination results on Sunday and about 54.6 per cent of students passed the examination, which was 0.85 per cent more than last year.
About 8.91 lakh people appeared for the exam in general category, 4.86 lakh students got through the exam. Girls have outnumbered boys in the exam with 59.46 per cent of pass, while 50.22 per cent for boys.
Grade wise results: A Grade - 43.06%, B Grade - 32.21%, C Grade - 16.97% and D Grade 7.76%.
In vocational courses, pass percentage of 46.54 was recorded and about 94,285 candidates appeared for the exam of which 43,877 passed.
Krishna tops, Mahaboobnagar stands last
Krishna district stood on the top with 74 per cent pass percentage, while Mahaboobnagar occupied last place with 40 per cent pass.

Releasing the results Minister for Secondary education Parthasarathi denied allegations that evaluation of marks were done by unqualified persons. He said the results were announced before the time than the scheduled and added that second year results would also be declared before the time likely 25 or 26 of April. Advanced supplementary examinations would be conducted from May 22 and last date for fee payment was May 3.
