3-day RSS meet from Friday
{jcomments on} The RSS top brass will meet for three days in Nagpur from Friday
to discuss important national issues including the emerging political scenario in the country and also elect its new General Secretary.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will inaugurate the meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), the highest body for policy formulation and decision making of the organisation. Bhagwat along with RSS General Secretary Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi will chair the 3-day annual meeting at Reshimbagh.
Important national issues will be discussed and necessary resolutions will be passed in the meeting, a statement by RSS said.
The ABPS also elects General Secretary every three years through voting by RSS delegates.
Joshi is the current General Secretary whose second three year term is coming to an end. Joshi however is eligible for re-election.
Around 1,400 representatives elected from RSS branches of all regions of the country, state level office bearers of RSS, national office bearers of Sangh affiliated (Sangh Parivar) organizations will attend the meeting.
The meeting assumes significance as it comes in the wake of government formation in Jammu and Kashmir where BJP is a partner with PDP.
The top RSS decision making body is also likely to take stock of BJP's position on issues like Article 370 in J&K and the controversial Land Aquisition Bill which has been opposed by RSS affiliate Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh.
The RSS delegates may also discuss certain controversial remarks made by PDP leaders after government formation in alliance with BJP especially Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's remarks crediting Pakistan, militants and separatists for peaceful polls in the state that has kicked up a row.
