27 kg of gold, Rs 23 lakh cash seized during checks

The security inspections carried out in the city in view of the terror warnings were leading to seizure of huge haul of cash and gold.

The police on Thursday recovered 27 kg of gold during surprise checks at Telugu Talli flyover. When the police intercepted a vehicle, to their dismay they found huge haul of  gold. 

In another incident, the police seized currency bundles of Rs 23 lakhs. During the checks, the police recovered Rs 16 lakhs from a person at Begumpeta and Rs 7 lakh from a vehicle near Secunderabad Railway station.
