20 pc hike in tax collection for GHMC

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)  has achieved 20 per cent increase in the revenue from property tax collection in the current year.

The GHMC officials said the tax collections reached Rs 760 crore for the fiscal year 2012-13 as against last year’s collections of Rs 634 crore, an increase of Rs 126 crore. The officials said Rs 72 crore has been collected under BPS, Rs 150 crore under LRS and Rs 27 crore from taxes on advertisements, which was Rs 22 crore in the previous year, a rise of Rs 5 crore. Similarly, the corporation has collected Rs 25.22 crore from issuance of DNO trade licenses as against last year’s income of Rs 21 crore.
