2-Year-Old Suffers From Rare Liver Disorder, Parents Take To Crowd Funding Route To Generate Rs 9 Lakh
Hyderabad: A two-year-old, Nihaal Prian, suffers from Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis ( PFIC), a rare liver disorder and needs an emergency liver transplantation which would cost Rs 22 lakh. His parents are daily wage laborers and resorted to online crowd funding platform Impact Guru to generate Rs 9 lakh.
Due to the disease, the tiny toddler suffers from an intense itching and keeps scratching his body vigorously day and night resulting in bleeding. "He neither eats nor sleeps. Unable to bare the pain, he keeps crying continually. We have consulted many hospitals, doctors, tried many medicines to subside itching but in vain," said Ramakrishna, Nihaal's father. The couple approached the state government too without any success.

Doctors said that the baby can remain be alive only if liver transplantation is done and the child's mother Swetha has agreed to be the donor. The couple said that they have spent nearly Rs 3 lakh on their son’s medication and are only hoping that the people come forward to help their son to get lease of new life.
