2 women killed as autorickshaw collides with lorry

Kakinada: Two women were killed and as many others injured when a speeding autorickshaw collided with a lorry at a village near here in the early hours on Wdnesday.

The passengers of the autorickshaw were travelling from Gopalapuram to Visakhapatnam when it dashed into a lorry near Jagannadagiri village of Tuni mandal, about 70 kms from here, Tuni police said. The deceased were identified as Chetipalli Simhachalam (46) and Ch Rama Namma (38). The injured persons were admitted to hospital. The bodies were shifted to Tuni government hospital for postmortem.

Further investigation was on, police said.
