2 Died, 6 Others Injured in Car Accident in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Two died and six others injured in a car accident at Benz Circle in Vijayawada on Tuesday afternoon. A car lost control and hit a road divider, according to onlookers.
Police identified the dead persons belong to Srikakulam districts.

After taking a holy dip at Vijayawada ghat as part of the ongoing Krishna pushkaralu, they were on the way to back home when this accident occurred, said police officials.

Expressing the grief over the accident, the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced Rs3 lakh ex-gratia for each family of the deceased. Naidu has directed officials to take care of the injured and ensure that better treatment facilities are available for them. The Chief Minister has appealed all those who’re participating in Krishna pushkaralu to be cautious while going back home.
