15 Students of NIT AP Booked For Ragging, Beating Up Bihar Student

Tadepalligudem: In connection with alleged ragging case at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Andhra Pradesh, 15 students were booked on Saturday here in West Godavari. Though the incident happened on Friday night, the management came to know about it the next day when the victim Mukul Kumar, native of Bihar complained about it.

Mukul informed NIT coordinator Srinivas Rao that the second and third year students beat him up after he raised objections to their misbehaviour. Incidentally, the whole ragging episode has been captured on the CCTV footage.

The NIT coordinator said that they have taken against the students involved and informed the police, who have filed an FIR. The anti-ragging committee held up a meeting whose report will be out today which will also recommend punishment to the accused. Out of the 15 students, five of them have been suspended for a month while the rest are given counselling. The suspended students are Guna Sai Prakash, Sushanth Joel, Ch Saketh, B Prithviraj and B Srinivas.
