Tirumala Temple Closed For 9-Hours Due To Eclipse

Hyderabad: Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple atop Tirumala will remain closed on Monday for nine hours due the lunar eclipse, according to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials. All special poojas and arjita sevas too will remain cancelled. No devotee would be allowed into the queue complex during the period of Grahanam.

Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju said the temple would be reopened after performing punyahavachanam and suddhi. He further said that devotees have to make arrangements for their food as Annaprasadam complex will not function during this time. Similarly, Potu, where the Laddu Prasadam of the Lord is prepared, will also remain closed.

Apart from Tirumala, Kanipakam and Tiruchanoor temples too will be closed on account of the Lunar eclipse.
