Class 9 Students Stop Classmate’s Marriage

Prakasam: Students of Class 9 at a government school alerted the police to stop their classmate's marriage in Komarolu on Wednesday. The students with the help of inspector and his team stopped the marriage which was being performed against the girl's wish and also she is a minor.

The 15-year-old girl is studying Class 9 in Komarolu government high school. The girl informed her classmates that she was taken by her parents marry off in Ongole. All the students went to the local police station together and lodged a complaint against the girl's father.

The police immediately caught hold of his father and questioned him. He told the police that he has taken her daughter to Madrasa in Ongole where she got admission. When the police questioned the girl, she told that she was not interested to go to Ongole.

SI Prabhakar Reddy told the girl's father to let her study in Komarolu as she wished so. The police also warned him that they will take serious action if the girl got married as she is a minor.
