Juvvaladinne Harbour Gets Virtual Launch by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will officially launch the Juvvaladinne Harbour virtually from the Tadepalli camp office. This is an important milestone for the fishing industry. Constructed at a cost of Rs. 289 crores, the harbour boasts international standards and has the capacity to accommodate around 1250 motorized and mechanized boats. The harbour will also facilitate jetties, foot bridges, anchorage, fish landing and distribution points, making fishing activities easier and safer for the community. The development will help 25,000 fishing families and unlock a fish production potential of 41,250 tons per year.

Fishermen affected by the ONGC pipeline project will receive a compensation of Rs. 161.86 crore for their lost livelihood. Under the leadership of CM Jagan, financial assistance will be directly deposited into the accounts of 23,458 affected families. Each beneficiary will receive Rs.69,000 directly into their accounts with just one click in the CM's camp office. This move will bring relief and support during these challenging times.

This initiative under Blue Revolution is a part of the larger effort by the government to uplift the fisheries sector. Simultaneously, many fishing harbours are being constructed with a total cost of Rs. 3,793 crores.  Also, construction work of four ports is undertaken at a cost of Rs.16,000 crores and is progressing very fast. These projects aim to boost local fishing activities, create employment opportunities and export capabilities. The YSRCP government has so far given compensation of Rs. 647.44 crores to the fishermen under five installments. During the 58 months, the government has benefitted Rs. 4,913 crores through various schemes introduced for the fisheries sector.
