YSRCP wants MLAs, MPs out of local body polls
YSR Congress Party on Thursday wrote demanded that the Election Commission not to allow MLAs and MPs during the elections to MPP and ZP chairperson posts.
In a letter, the YSRCP informed the Election Commission that ever since the notification for elections to Municipal bodies has been announced by State Election Commission, incidents related to kidnapping, influencing and threatening of MPPs are taking place to ensure that the TDP gained an upper hand in the local body elections.
They requested the concerned authorities to make sure that MLAS and MPs irrespective of the political affiliation to leave the meeting hall after the General Body meeting is completed and only voters to be allowed to remain in the meeting hall during the voting.
