YSRCP to question on Govt's promises - Sakshi Post

In a point by point rebuttal of Chandrababu Naidu's 'policy announcement' on farm loan waiver and DWCRA loan waiver, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said

Chandrababu's argument was a classic example of how double-tongued he could be. "What he is saying now is vastly different from what he had said during the elections. Farm loan waiver was his first assurance and this was repeated ad nauseum in party manifesto, pamphlets and media adverts. When the Election Commission sought to know whether the loan waiver was implementably, he told the CEC that he knew how to implement farm loan waiver.
Now the very same Chandrababu is trying to cut down on farm loan accounts. From one crore accounts, he had successfully cut them down to 22 lakhs. But, even now, he has no specified the exact amount of loan that would be waived, Jagan said. He is not even talking of DWCRA loans now, Jagan quipped.
Once he came to power, he excluded horticulture from the loan waiver. Then he said loan from only one bank would be waived and that only one member of the family would be benefited. There is no talk of penalty waiver.
Those who haven't paid their loans believing that Chandrababu would waive off loans, are now forced to shell out one-time interest of 14 per cent, Jagan pointed out.
The YSRCP chief further said that as many as 86 farmers have committed suicide after Chandrababu Naidu took over reins of power. In Anantapur alone, over 40 farmers have ended lives. Yet, Chandrababu is trying to whitewash the farmers suicides, he said.
Speaking ahead of the YSRCP's state-wide maha dharnas at the district collectorates, he said his party would stand by the people of the state in general and farmers and DWCRA women in particular. He called upon the people to participate in the maha dharnas in big numbers and make them success.
