YSRCP set to sweep AP : NDTV survey
The YSRCP is set to sweep Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, according to an NDTV survey aired on national television at prime time.
NDTV's survey revealed that YSRCP would bag as many as 21 of the 42 seats in AP, in a mid-term poll, followed by the TRS with 10 seats and the Congress reduced to single digits. The survey proves the growing popularity of YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who as per results of the survey is seen as the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
The survey holds a mirror up to the Congress party once again, and reveals its sharp decline, even as it seems reluctant to acknowledge facts on the ground. Veerappa Moily the Union Minister for Corporate Affairs acknowledged the fact that YS Jaganmohan Reddy had inherited the late Dr. YSR's legacy and said that the "Congress had its own weapons". When asked pointedly by Mrs. Bharati Jaganmohan Reddy whether the CBI was one of the "weapons" the Congress had in its armoury, Moily clarified that he meant "political weapons."
Mrs. Bharati Jaganmohan Reddy told NDTV that their survey only mirrored what the by-poll results had revealed. When asked about the possibility of the YSRCP supporting the BJP, Mrs. Bharati said that her husband was very categorical about not supporting the BJP under any circumstances.
Shekar Gupta, Editor-in-chief of Indian Express who was on the panel said that Jagan deserved to be treated with more respect by the Congress.
The Congress which is already reeling under the effects of a host of scams and scandals at the national level faces decimation in Andhra Pradesh at the hands of the YSRCP, results of the survey clearly reveal.
