Hyderabad, YSR Congress Party's call for 'bandh' in Seemandhra given by party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday and Friday, to oppose state bifurcation met with huge success.

The bandh was supported by all party workers across the 13 districts. Some business organisations also voluntarily closed shutters.

On a day when the Parliament resumed its winter session to table and pass the Telangana Bill, normal life came to a halt in 13 districts of Seemandhra, as Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra are together known.

In Guntur, Vishakapatnam, Krishna, Prakasham, Kurnool,Chittoor, the strike, imposed from morning, was complete. Supporters of YSRCP and other 'Samaikyandhra' supporters also participated. Buses did not ply on the streets, neither did they leave their depots.
