YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy Invokes Point Of Order In Rajya Sabha
New Delhi: YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy invoked Point of Order in the Rajya Sabha, on Thursday, against the statements made by union minister Sujana Choudary.
Speaking on the occasion, the YSRCP MP questioned the minister for differing with the Union Budget proposals while being a part of the government. "The minister can resign from the Union Cabinet and air his differences with the budget. The budget is a combined responsibility of the Union Cabinet ministers. However, making statements against the budget is against the Constitution," Vijaysai Reddy pointed out.
However, the House erupted in protest when Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu said that the minister's statement were not against the budget. "The minister made suggestions in the budget and did not go against it," Venkaiah Naidu sought to clarify.
Meanwhile, MP Vijaysai Reddy is expected to meet President Ramnath Kovind on Thursday evening. He will take up the issue of Rajya Sabha chairman Venkaiah Naidu’s reply on the Point of Order raise by him in the House.
