YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy exposes CBI's duplicity in LS
During the debate in Parliament on Wednesday, YSR Congress Party exposed CBI's partisan role.
Supporting the CBI bill under which absence of any of the three members of the selection committee to choose CBI chief will not hinder the exercise, YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy said that the CBI has become a tool in the hands of the ruling party.
He also said that it has been functioning on the directions of the ruling party to intimidate the opposition and to destabilize the opposition leaders.
"I would like to bring your notice from a classic example from my state of Andhra Pradesh. Our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was not in power, neither he did sign any files.Though he was not holding any office of power, the CBI launched a probe on him just for the reason that he had left the then ruling party," the YSRCP MP said.
He further said that the CBI had foisted cases at the behest of the Congress party "The interesting fact is that during the same period, there was a demand to conduct a CBI probe on leader of the opposition, who is now chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. But the CBI had straight away said that there was a shortage of man power. At the same time, 28 teams of CBI were working on YS Jagan Reddy," he said and added that this showed the double standards of the CBI.
