YSRCP MLAs to spend night in Assembly
YSR Congress Party MLAs, who protested against the Telangana Bill by flocking in front of the Speaker's podium, holding placards and shouting, 'Jai Samaikyandhra', decided to stay back in Assembly on Monday night.
YSRCP announced that they will continue their protest against the bifurcation through the night in the assembly and disrupt Tuesday's proceedings. The protesting MLAs are staging a dharna near the Speaker's podium since Monday 3 pm.
They questioned, how can T Bill discussion commence both without a BAC meeting and Speaker's permission.
Criticising CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP chief Chandrababu for skipping the assembly session, YSRCP leaders alleged that they are only implementing the agenda of Cong president Sonia Gandhi over division by not trying to stop the introduction of the bill. “We oppose the T Bill outright in the assembly as we stood for unified state but the assembly first take up a resolution for keeping the state united, “ YSRCLP deputy leader Sobha Nagireddy said, finding fault with the absence of Kiran Kumar and Naidu. (YSRCP demand)
She said Kiran Kumar who had earlier vowed to obstruct the introduction of the bill in the assembly ran away from his responsibility today. “It is now clear he is only a paper tiger and the talk of his fight for keeping the state unified is only a drama,” she said, stating Kiran has cheated the people, Seemandhra public representatives and the agitators.
The YSRCP leader also said Chandrababu found time to attend the swearing in ceremony of MP Chief Minister but could not find time to attend the assembly and obstruct the introduction of the bill. “He is only aiding the CM in implementing the agenda of Sonia.” She further asked about the whereabouts of Naidu, who convened regular press meets in last seven days. She appealed to them to ensure at least now that the assembly will adopt a resolution in favour of Samaikyandhra.
Earlier in the day, soon after Telangana Bill was tabled in the house, Seemandhra MLAs opposing the division came out of the house and tore the copies of the bill at media point. (Read here)
