YSRCP MLA Anil Kumar Yadav Arrested For Opposing Demolition Drive

A tense situation prevailed in Saluchintha of Nellore district on Thursday, when the officials began demolishing houses of poor people. The locals strongly opposed the demolition drive. YSRCP MLA Anil Kumar Yadav opposed the demolitions and staged a sit in.

Yadav demanded that the Government should provide alternative land to the oustees. He said that the officials should issue pattas to the people residing on assigned lands. The police moved in quickly and arrested the MLA and his supporters. A large number of the victims of the demolitions were also taken into custody. The locals strongly decried the arrests and said that demolishing the houses without showing alternative place to settle is not just unjust but also inhuman.
