YSRCP Dharna For AP Special Status  

YSR Congress Party leaders staged a dharna across Andhra Pradesh in response to a call given by the AP leader of Opposition and party chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

A dharna was held at Kadapa Zilla Parishad office. The protests were carried out in all the districts of Andhra Pradesh by the YSRCP leaders.

The party leaders from over 10 constituencies joined the protest, which is aimed at building pressure on the centre to get special status for AP. Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy and Kadapa Parliament chief Suresh Babu, MLAs Srikanth Reddy, Amjad Basha, Rachamallu Prasad joined the dharna in Kadapa district.

Speaking at the dharna, Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy said that the party will not stop the dharna until the centre announces special category status to AP. He also said that the centre's announcement of 'special package' instead of special category status had disappointed the public a great deal.

"Chandrababu has cheated the people by accepting special package announced by the centre," asserted Anvesh Reddy. "The YSRCP will hold the YSRCP Porubata at the Parliament from March 5 to April 5. If the centre does not fulfill our demands, the leaders of the party will resign on April 6," the MP said.
