Free Sand Policy Should be Transparent: YSRCP

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Saturday congratulated the TDP-led Andhra Pradesh government for annoucing sand free of cost to the common man.

Addressing the media, YSRCP senior leader Botcha Satyanarayana said besides the announcement the State government must ensure that proper guidelines are framed to implement the policy in a transparent manner. "Steps must be taken to prevent the new annoucement from becoming money-making source for the sand mafia," he said.
"The TDP government increased the price of sand to Rs. 500 per cubic feet and now changed the policy to free. That proves the YSRCP charge that the earlier sand policy was flawed and only benefited the sand mafia and the TDP cadre," Satyanarayana said.
