YSRCP Chief Meets President Pranab Mukherjee to Highlight AP’s Sufferings
New Delhi: YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated his party’s commitment to fight for special category status to Andhra Padesh. He said his party would continue to wage a battle for the cause and asked the Chief Minister and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu to shed reticence and come out unequivocally for the special category status.
YS Jagan, who along with the party MPs, has met President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, pressed for special category state status. He said Chandrababu Naidu was not showing courage in raising his voice for special category status and is not even speaking in English on the issue lest Modi get to know about it.
He said while the GST was good for the nation, it would hit the State’s revenues badly and the Special Status is all the more necessary under these circumstances.
He said Chandrababu Naidu’s flip-flop has made the Centre adopt a lackadaisical approach to the issue. During his visit, he would meet all those who supported the demand for Special State Status and added that he would even meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah if they give an appointment. He said his party would fight for the rights of the Telugu people along with the Left parties.
