'Congress, 130 years old, is scared of YSRCP'

'Congress, 130 years old, is scared of YSRCP' - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress Party celebrated its third year anniversary on Wednesday.

Since its inception in 2011, the party has gained immense popularity in the face of some insurmountable odds.

YSRCP was floated by former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's son, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on  March 12, 2011.

YSRCP honorary president, YS Vijayamma kick-started the anniversary celebrations by hoisting the party flag and cutting a cake at YSRCP's office in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

Addressing a huge gathering, YS Vijayamma recalled how her husband YSR's welfare schemes had benefited the poor.  "We look at Telugu people as one entity despite the division carried out by vested interests for political gains and we are continuing our legal battle on that front but I assure you that the welfare of people of all regions was on top of YSR mind and the Jagan has the same vision," she said.

She hoped that all problems, that the state is facing, will come to an end once YSRCP comes to power. "No one can erase YSR's name from people's hearts. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stands as a true heir to YSR, whose welfare schemes have benefitted, farmers, students, women, weaker sections, minorities and others as I see in him the vision of YSR, who treated all regions equally and had the welfare of people of all regions on top of his mind, always," she said.

She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all those who had stood by her family in times of crisis. She assured everyone that YS Jagan will fight to implement welfare schemes that were successful during YSR's regime. "He will fight relentlessly for the betterment of the society," she said.

"Congress which is 130 years old, and TDP which is 30 years old is scared of the the rise of YSRCP. They have no strength to win the elections. Should public believe Chandrababu who saved the Congress government by not supporting no-confidence motion and instead giving letter in support of bifurcation," YS Vijayamma asked.

YS Vijayamma expressed confidence that her party will come to power after the elections and the celebrations will be even better then.
