YSRCP calls for Chittoor bandh on Nov 2

The YSR Congress Party has called for a Chittoor district bandh on November 2, in protest against rise in essential commodities.

Addressing the media on Friday, the party's state general secretary and Punganur MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government should declare 66 mandals in the district as drought-hit. Drought being the main cause of rise of essential commodities, he said the state government has failed to rescue the farmers in the region. Similarly, no move is being made to bring down the prices of essential commodities, he said.

YSRCP district president K Narayan Swamy and others participated in the meeting.
