YSRCP call for bandh against bifurcation a huge success: - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad, YSR Congress Party's call for 'bandh' on Friday given by party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, in opposition to state bifurcation in Seemandhra, met with huge success.

The bandh saw huge participation from all the party workers across districts and some business organisations voluntarily closed shutters.

On a day when the state assembly resumed its winter session to debate the bill for formation of a separate Telangana state, normal life came to a halt in 13 districts of Seemandhra, as Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra are together known.

In Guntur, Vishakapatnam, Krishna, Prakasham, Kurnool,Chittoor, the strike, imposed from morning, was complete. Supporters of YSRCP and other supporters of the 'Samakiyandhra' cause also participated. Buses did not ply on the streets, neither did they leave their depots.

Meanwhile Jagan asked his party workers to continue their protest against state bifurcation across the state for a week starting from Friday. The party decided to conduct a motor vehicle rally on January 4, form a human chain on January 6, and hold hunger strikes from 7 to 10 in all Talukas across the state.

The 41-year-old, who will resume his, 'Samaikya Shankaravam' tour from Janauary 5 from Thambalapalli, said the future course of agitation will depend on Assembly session outcome.
