YSRCP Boycotts Assembly Winter Session

Hyderabad: In protest against the Speaker's refusal to revoke the suspension on RK Roja from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, the Opposition YSR Congress Party on Monday boycotted the winter session that is scheduled to last for another two days.
As soon as the House met on Monday, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy raised the issue of Roja's suspension and urged the Speaker to revoke the same by reviewing the decision under clause 7 of schedule 10. He said the suspension of the MLA was undemocratic and autocratic. He also demanded a discussion on the call money sex racket.
However, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu categorically said the suspension won't be revoked at any cost. He said the discussion on the call money sex racket was over and there is nothing more to discuss on the issue.
While endorsing the views of the Finance Minister, Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad said if the Opposition assures that the situation that led to Roja's suspension won't repeat in the House and the member apologizes, he can consider to review the decision. However, YSRCP chief YS Jagan retorted the Speaker's views and announced that his party is boycotting the session. "You must not ignore the fact that people are watching this undemocratic way of running the Assembly," YS Jagan said.
