The Andhra Pradesh Assembly could not transact any business on the first day of its monsoon session as Opposition members disrupted the proceedings on different issues.

While the YSR Congress Party insisted on a debate on the fee reimbursement issue, the TDP protested against the unprecedented power cuts.

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti wanted a resolution passed by the House seeking the creation of a separate Telangana state and were supported by three BJP members and an Independent legislator.

Amidst noisy scenes, Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the proceedings first till 10 am and later for another half an hour but to no avail. He postponed the questions listed for the day.

YSRC Party members were on their feet in the front row and protested against the government's revised fee reimbursement policy strongly.

Earlier, the Honorary President of YSRCP, Y.S.Vijayamma led the protest against the hike in diesel prices and limit on LPG cylinders by riding in a bullock cart from the New MLA quarters to the AP Legislative Assembly, while the party's legislators rode bicycles
